I arrived on a tourist visa end of March and just did the 30 day extension that goes till June 20.

If I go to immigration before May 29, do you think they will give me the 60 day Covid extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they can apply for a 60-day Covid extension at immigration before their current tourist visa extension expires on June 20. A comment suggests that most immigration offices allow extensions when 30 days or less remain on a current visa. However, there's uncertainty on whether the Covid extension would start from the application date or add to the current expiration date, recommending that this be clarified with immigration officials.

most offices allow you to apply for a new extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp (some allow you to do it when you have 45 days or less)

The real question is

IF they let you apply for the covid extension before the May 29th cut off, will it start from the day you apply (meaning you'd lose all the days until June 20) OR will they add it to your current expiration date.

Unfortunately the people you need to ask would be the officers at the immigration office you use.

I am in a similar situation as Elena is, arrived in early march on TR visa, already extended 30 days which are due 3rd of June, went to Chang Wattana yesterday to get first 60 day covid extension. The answer was they would start counting 60 days from the day i apply (yesterday) so i said, ok then i will come next week. They gave me additional papers to fill at home.

Not yet, the immigration office on Phangan will open on May 20 so waiting for this to happen. I had a friend who went today to Samui and they extended his visa from the day his current visa ends and not the day of the visit.

Remember though, not all immigration offices process all extension of stays. Some immigration offices only process documents like TM30s or 90 day reports. It's a risk that the immigration office on Phangan may not be able to process the extension of stays.
