Hi Guys, just wanted to say thank you for all the efforts and advice that has been given in this group. It has been really helpful!
I have been through previous posts and answers and have come to the following possible options for staying on a Non-O visa based on Marriage, however there does seem to be some subtle nuances that I have not quite grasped, such as money seasoning times, or mandatory insurance requirements.
The following is what I have come up with, I am coming from Australia to Thailand and I am married to a Thai.
Option 1
Enter Thailand on Visa Exempt entry - 30 days
OR
Enter Thailand on Tourist Visa obtained from home country - 60 Days
Then
Apply for apply for an in-country Non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai - 90 Days
Then
Create bank account and transfer in 400k from external source, allow to season for 2 months.
Then
Within 30 days of visa expiry, apply for 1-Year Extension of Stay Based on Marriage - 12 months
Option 2
Enter Thailand on Non-Immigrant O (Spouse) Visa obtained from home country - 90 Days
Then
Create bank account and transfer in 400k from external source, allow to season for 2 months (?)
Then
Within 30 days of visa expiry, apply for 1-Year Extension of Stay Based on Marriage - 12 months
If anyone can offer any constructive advice or amend any mistakes in the above I would be grateful for the assistance.
Cheers!
