Hello,

Second time posting here with another query. It is about seasoning of 400K baht in thai bank account for 2 months before applying for extension of stay based on Marraige. Suppose for the first month money seasoned in bank A and if I need to transfer online money to Bank B without and reduction for some reason.

If this allowed? If yes do I need bank letters from both A and B?

If any group member earlier had the same experience.

Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query asks if money can be transferred between bank accounts during the mandatory seasoning period of 400K baht for a Thai marriage visa extension. Community responses suggest it's better not to move the funds to avoid complications, as immigration rules regarding bank seasoning can be interpreted variably. It's recommended to keep the money in one account for the entire required period to ensure compliance.

there is nothing specifically in the immigration clauses or rules that prohibits using multiple accounts BUT the terms of the "seasoning" are ambiguously written AND all you need is an officer who wants to take it to read as the money must stay in that account for 2 months before you apply and it could cause you problems

Good Luck with it (y)

Definitely wait. When the rule says โ€œAโ€ bank account you have to keep two things in mind. One is that many things donโ€™t translate well to English. The other is that rules in Thailand - especially in immigration - are whatever the person you are standing before says they are. So I agree with the sentiment to not make it any harder than it needs to be! I wouldnโ€™t even ask ahead of time because if they say itโ€™s fine then, there is no guarantee you will get the same answer when you go back 2 months later (or 2 days for that matter.)

. My philosophy entirely. We know how irrational Thai immigration can be at times, and when seeking any extension, it's best to keep everything in an orderly system, as Thais are very anal. Once you start disputing with an officer, your file is marked for life. It just isn't worth the hassle

Facing difficulties today might lead to easy paths for future. We must think logically. The Book says 400K baht in thai Bank account nothing mentioned about single bank account seasoning.

Thank you for your advise

. You mention "logic" in a query relating to Thai immigration? Interesting. You ask a question seeking advice, but then wish to negate the advice. Interesting. There have been many reports from people in this forum who have had their applications rejected for this purpose. Thai immigration state that the money must be in a Thai bank account for two months prior to application. "A" Thai bank account signifies singular. Your interpretation is that it can be switched from account to account. Good luck with that one!

I'd almost bet that the immigration office isn't gonna accept it because you "broke the chain" (moving it from one bank account to a separate account at a different bank). I know they have given people grief for moving it from one account to another INSIDE the same bank branch

I'd say don't do it.

OR

Go to your immigration office with your thai wife and ask them specifically if it can be done (before you move the money) or if doing it will mess up your seasoning.
