Hi, I have an urgent problem.

My Volunteer Visa expires on the 18th of January. But I want / need to stay in Thailand until January 31. My employer cannot extend the employment due to financial reasons. Can I leave the country (e.g. to Laos) and apply for a tourist visa there? I will not work after January 18 but I need to stay in Thailand until January 31 for personal reasons.

I am originally from Switzerland and so my home country is very far away.

Is a converted Non-B visa still valid for the full duration if I leave my employer in Thailand?

I know a Non B, 90 day entry from an embassy is still valid if you leave your employer. But, what about a Non B conversion from immigration? 

If I convert with my employer, getting a 90 day non-B (at immigration)... am I still able to stay the full 90 if I don’t stay with the company?
