Will my travel history impact my entry into Thailand as a Belgian expat in 2026?

I have a Belgian passport and live in Belgium. I have a trip planned to Thailand from January 25 to March 19, 2026. Given the stricter immigration regulations, I'm concerned about whether I'll be allowed in.

I was already in Thailand from February 19 to 25 december 2024.

From December 9, 2024to February 4, 2025.

From May 16 to July 11, 2025.

From September 12 to October 16, 2025.

I'm flying with Qatar Airways. I have a return ticket to Belgium, sufficient funds, and two hotel reservations for the first five weeks. I've never had overstays, visa extensions, or visa extensions.

What can I realistically expect?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning a trip to Thailand and is concerned about immigration regulations due to their travel history. They have traveled to Thailand multiple times within the past two years without any overstays or visa issues, and they have all necessary documentation for their upcoming visit. The community response suggests that the user's travel pattern is acceptable under current Immigration guidelines, and they should be prepared for possible questioning at immigration but are likely to have no issues entering Thailand based on their provided travel history and documentation.

You have nothing in that patern that should be an issue. Keep doing 2 months on 2 months off till they tell you to get a long term visa.

Je bent hier amper geweest. Ik kom ieder jaar

keer voor 5 weken per visit. Geen enkel probleem bij immigratie. Zolang je geen extensies doet.

I would say you will potentially be pulled aside and questioned. Be sure you have a ticket out, accommodation booked and 20k baht or equivalent in another major currency in CASH

there is no reset, no calendar year reset. Immigration will look up his complete travel history of the recent 12 months

I had the same patterns ,6 entries last year so for 7th on NYE I got an SETV, no issues. after this I will stop all , no visa exempt or SETV it's time to transition accordingly to DTV SETV was a bridge.

I did the same thing. Though I have no idea if it was necessary or how much of getting a visa is a kind of pre vetting or not at all.

Also transitioning to a long term visa even though I’m still bouncing. Just for peace of mind.

it is pre vetting and reduces the chance of scrutiny by an insanely significant amount. You've literally already been deemed worthy to enter by a Thai government official.. when immigration sees the visa they immediately shift gears on their perspective of you and your intention

yeah. I suspected that to be the case from the fairly minimal research I did.

I successfully applied for my Non O last week anyway. Over 50. Got to go and get the initial stamp next week. Easy as ticking the boxes.

As will your DTV be.

Thanks man.

Looking at the full picture, your travel history goes back to early 2024, and immigration roughly assesses time spent in Thailand within a rolling 12 month period, not calendar years. Within the most recent 12 months before your planned entry on January 25, 2026, your total time in Thailand is roughly in the 110–120 day range, depending on exact exit dates, which is below the levels that normally trigger serious concern. Combined with the fact that your stays are spread out, you have clear time spent outside Thailand and Belgium as your home base, no overstays, no extensions, no border runs, and you are arriving by air with a confirmed return ticket, accommodation, and funds, this still fits a normal visitor pattern. You are approaching the upper end of routine tourist use, but there is nothing here that would realistically suggest de facto residence, so entry on visa exemption should normally be fine, with the usual caveat that questioning is always discretionary.

the TDAC is not a visa it’s an arrival card so wouldn’t help overcome any visa issues

I was wondering if Hua Hin (where I have been 20 times) is becoming the capital of katoy shaggers?
