Will my third entry into Thailand in 2025 cause issues due to previous visa exemptions and a long gap?

Hello everyone .

Last year I entered Thailand on 24 December 2024 and stayed for about 40 days . Left to visit Siem Reap and Kuala Lumpur for a week then came back to Phuket for about two weeks ( first entry on visa exemption of 2025). After left back to my home country of Romania for two weeks , then Istanbul, Dubai , Cairo and back to Thailand for another week( second entrance on visa exemption for 2025) . Mid March I returned home to Romania got my USA work visa and stayed in America to work from April to December. Now my plan is to bring my parents to SE Asia . We will be in Vietnam for a week but would like

to fly to Thailand on 31st of December for New Years Eve( it would technically be a third entrance in 2025, but with an almost 9 month pause between this and the last entrance) . Do you guys think it would be an issue , should I wait until it’s technically 2026 the fly into Thailand. Overall I have spent probably less than 60 days this year in Thailand .

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their travel history to Thailand over the past year, expressing concern about possibly making a third entry under visa exemption on December 31, 2025, after a significant gap since their last visit. Community responses suggest that this should not pose a problem given their tourist status, emphasizing it's ultimately up to the discretion of the immigration officer.

people are getting scared with all these considerations and it's much easier than it seems certainly if you are one of many visa runners mostly settled in Pattaya and pucket who loves beer and makes noise you are out

I guess that’s encouraging, thanks

Nobody can really say for sure but I just entered for my third time since May without any issues. My stays were for 56 days, 12 days and 13 days and I have never done an extension of stay.

As an aside how old are your parents? If 70+ then head to the Thai passport line on arrival. It’ll be relatively quiet (or empty) and skip the queue.

Hi Stuart, I picked up on comment of 70+ joining the Thai passport line. Being 77 I have always just joined the non Thai passport holder line. Are you saying next time I can go in the Thai line because of age? I do know in Thailand they offer to board "elderly" first on flights.Thank you.

My brother (17 years old ) will also be with us . Do you think there will be any issues regarding that ?

If travelling with family then you can all use the “express lane” (Thai passport line) if your parents are 70+ or even look like they may be.

Waiting for 2026 won't make any difference but you seem like a genuine tourist so should be OK, but as ever it will be up to the immigration officer you stand in front of

No problem. Have fun

Certainly sounds like no issue for entrance in to Thailand as it’s a typical type of tourist entry.

No guarantee as it’s up to the individual immigration officer but doesn’t seem to raise any red flags.

Have the three proofs of cash, accommodation and ticket out but probably won’t be asked for any.

Thank you . Isn’t it enough if I show proof of funds ? I can show them over 100k $ in fund if needed . Do they also need funda on their own name ?

you should have cash from any country doesn't have to be in baht. Very rare they ask but they would not accept a bank card, visa card or what you have in the bank. Has to be cash equivalent

There are 3 proofs that could be asked for. Cash of 20,000 baht or equivalent. Cash only. A bank statement or phone app won’t suffice. Proof of an exit ticket and proof of accommodation.

Rarely would any of that be asked for unless they are looking for a way to deny entry.
