Will Immigration Give Me Trouble for Multiple Short Visits to Thailand This Year?

Hey guys,

First off, I’m really sorry if this has been asked before. I know it probably has, but I’m a natural overthinker and I worry a lot about small things.

So here’s my situation: I’ve planned a 10-day trip to Bangkok this October (7th–17th), and then I fly out to Vietnam. The thing is, I’ve already been to Thailand twice this year – once in May for 7 days and again in August for 10 days. This will be my 3rd trip within the year, and I’m starting to worry if immigration might give me a hard time or even deny entry.

For context:

• My passport allows visa-free entry for 60 days, but the max I’ve stayed each time was only 10 days.

• I’ll have proof of funds (carrying 40–50k baht in cash), onward flight tickets to Vietnam, and all hotel bookings (already paid).

• The biggest reason I’m stressing is because my girlfriend (she’s from Greece) will be flying all the way from Athens to Bangkok the same day to meet me. We’re long-distance and this vacation means everything to us. If I get stopped or denied at immigration, it would be a huge mess since she’d arrive alone and our trip would basically be ruined.

Has anyone here traveled multiple times in a year like this? Do you think immigration will actually care, or am I just overthinking it? Any advice would seriously mean the world to me.

Thanks a ton in advance, and again, sorry for repeating a question that might’ve been asked before 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler is concerned about their upcoming 10-day trip to Bangkok, fearing possible immigration issues due to having visited Thailand twice within the same year. They have a visa-free entry allowance and can provide proof of funds and onward travel, but worry about the impression they will leave at immigration. Responses from the community suggest that as long as the trips are short and comply with visa regulations, immigration is unlikely to raise any concerns, and emphasize maintaining a polite demeanor upon entry.

It's far more about how long you've spent in Thailand than it is about how many times. The thing immigration doesn't like is people trying to live in Thailand without a long-term visa. You've just made a couple of short visits exactly as a tourist would.

Also, they will normally give you a warning before denying entry.

thank you so much for taking your time to write this.

This means a lot to me honestly <3

To be absolutely safe you could arrange an agent to provide express service through immigration. Would cost around THB2-3k.

I do Thailand around 4 times a year for 30 days, never overstayed and just stick to the rules and be polite. You won’t have ANY problem😌

A few years ago (before Non-O) visa I visited Thailand about 8 times within a year but every time it was only for a few days and immigration did not care. Your travel pattern looks inconspicuous so I would not worry.

thanks for the reassurance, man! I was worried because my girlfriend and I have been planning this vacation for ages, and we're finally meeting after almost 10 months – it's a big deal for us since we live on opposite sides of the world 😌

You can use a safe entry guarantee provided by an agent...around 3-5k thb

Won't be a problem, people doing a few border runs etc are facing issues, you'll be fine ,been 3 times this year , 14 days, 30 days & 25 days. No issues whatsoever.

thanks a lot, brother. I'm a lot more relieved now. My past two visits combined were 17 days in Thailand, and this third trip will be totally 27 days, so I think it's really not bad. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly 🙏

Smile and be polite to staff on entry. You won't have a problem. Make sure to do your TDAC online within 3 days of arrival at BkK. Remind GF also and Don't stress . Have a blast and sabai sabai.

They are much stricter this year, but you are clearly a tourist so you'll be fine.

, obviously man, haha! The longest I've stayed in Thailand was 10 days, and I'll be staying for the same amount of time in October.

With your short visits earlier, I doubt Immigration will think you are anything but a tourist.

It would be more of a problem if you maxed out your time on each of those visits.

Others might disagree. But personally, I doubt it will be a problem.
