Will I face issues entering Thailand on a tourist visa given my immigration history?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I’m going to have a problem entering on a Thai tourist Visa in late June to phuket for 10 days because of my history and immigration becoming stricter.

My history.

At the beginning of last year I stopped using my retirement visa that was forced to get during COVID.

I flew in and out of KL in February last year without a entry permit to return on a visa exemption

I returned to the UK to work for the summer season there in mate April 2024 but had some time off in work in July 2024 and came back for about 10 days before heading to the UK 🇬🇧 for work again.

So that’s twice last year I entered on a visa exemption.

I returned in mid October 2024 on a 6 month METV.

I got a 30 day extension after I entered the first time and then flew out twice for the day to KL and both times I didn’t get a visa extension.

However the last time I flew back from KL in February 2025 they questioned me about when I was coming back.

I told them October and they said that should be ok and make sure I had a return flight.

I plan to get a marriage visa in October 2025 when I come back from working in the UK.

If I make sure I get an actual tourist visa before I plan to come back in June and have at least 20,000baht in cash & book a hotel at least for 3 days, with a return ticket should I be fine to enter Thailand into phuket for 10 days?

I wanted to get a marriage visa at then end of last year 2025 but we had a proper wedding last October and bought a new house so things were tighter than normal having to pay for the house and the wedding.

Thanks in advance 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of entering Thailand on a tourist visa in June after a complex immigration history, which includes multiple entries and plans for a marriage visa in the future. They seek advice on necessary preparations such as having sufficient cash, hotel bookings, and a return ticket.

If you get an actual visa you should be fine. But until you are standing in front of the IO it is all a guess. They can deny you for any reason. Having an actual approved visa and the other things you listed should remove the easy reasons for refusal.

thank you Darren

I have to weigh but the risk and if I’m up for taking it

If they turned me around on arrival would it put at risk of applying for a marriage visa in October do you think? 🤔

I don't think so. You can always apply. It might make them look closer and verify everything just to make sure you aren't using the marriage to get in.

Is there a reason you don't get the marriage visa from the embassy before you go to Thailand? You will not be able to get a marriage visa in Thailand if you're only going for 10 days.

thank you but I have to be back at work in 10 days after I arrive

I’m going to apply when I get back in October after my seasons work for a marriage visa when I’m here for some time

I didn’t think I’d have time off till October but I do unfortunately
