TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual currently holds a multi-entry OA visa and is seeking to remain in Thailand beyond its expiration. It is confirmed that holders of this visa must have mandatory health insurance from approved providers to apply for an extension. Alternatives include potentially applying for a retirement visa (O visa) if they can demonstrate a suitable income, permitting them to stay without health insurance, depending on immigration office discretion.

Retirement. Go to an agent. Easy process

You should be able to qualify for a one-year extension of stay based on retirement, not OA but O, you can apply without leaving the country. Proving you have steady income might be a little complicated.

Depending on your situation if married you can change reason for O-A visa to married with out health insurance. But this may vary at different immigration offices. I know someone just did in Bueng Kan

my friend just changed from OA to marriage within the country. Pain in the ass bit he did it.

Pacific Health Insurance are on the approved insurers list for O-A visa holders.

They have a range of policies designed to meet the immigration requirements.

If you are just doing this to satisfy the visa application you can nominate a maximum deductible of 300,000 baht. This would reduce the annual premium to around 15,000 baht. I only know this because I have just done this with them myself.

nope, if you are on an O-A visa <- the kind you got in your country BEFORE you came here that required a police background check and a medical certificate and you showed proof of funds in your bank in your country you CANNOT get a yearly extension on it without having the mandatory health insurance from one of the 13 approved thai insurance companies.

here's the link to them

nope, you can't go from an O-A visa entry (which is what you're on now) to a Non-O visa inside the country. You either get the year extension from the O-A visa entry you're on by meeting the requirements and having the mandatory health insurance OR when the borders open up you leave the country, canceling your year O-A entry stamp you have now, come back in on a 30 day visa exempt entry and THEN apply for a 90 day Non-O visa (and that wouldn't need insurance)

I halve a Thái bank and the funds have been going into my bank account for the last 3 months thank you for answering my question about the length of time it need to be be deposited

You don't mention your nationality but if you are wanting to use monthly income method for the proof of funds and you come from a country that does not issue the income affidavit notary letter (US, UK, Australia) you would need to transfer in to the country each month every month at least 65K baht into a thai bank account in your name only for the previous 12 months before you apply for your extension.
