TLDR : Answer Summary
The 16 and 17-year-old nephews visiting from Denmark should not have any issues obtaining a 30-day visa exemption for their stay in Thailand. However, there may be concerns regarding airline policies that could prevent them from boarding.

and we're done. There is no problem for the kids the O/P is asking about getting 30 day visa exempt entry stamps.

Most airlines (mine included) require a signed parent/guardian consent form for under 16s travelling unaccompanied.
