Hi there,

I’m about to renew my one-year extension based on marriage for the first time.

Is the immigration officer going to visit my home again and will I need the two witnesses ?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for renewing a one-year marriage extension in Thailand varies by immigration office. Some offices may require a home visit and a witness, while others may not, particularly due to restrictions like COVID-19. It's advisable to contact your specific immigration office to confirm their requirements.

There are over 70 immigration offices inside the country and they each do the process slightly different. All you can do is ASK them when you go apply for your yearly extension.

Some do an in home visit every year, some do it the first year and then not again, it's a crap shoot.
