Hi, I'm a Singaporean and would like to extend my TR Visa while preparing for my Smart S Visa. How should I go about it and what are the documents required before extending my Visa? Do I need to buy insurance or proof of hotel reservation before going down?

Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜Š

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Singaporean looking to extend their TR Visa while preparing for a Smart S Visa should ensure they have the proper documents before visiting the immigration office. These include a completed Extension of Stay application form, a TM30 form, passport photos, and certain passport copies. While insurance or hotel reservations are not typically required, specific immigration offices may vary in their requirements, so it's good to confirm the details at the local office.

A SMART visa is a BOI visa that is used for people to start up technology based businesses.

A TR visa is a tourist visa. You will not need insurance or proof of hotel reservation before applying. You *MAY* need a TM30 filed at your local immigration office.

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office. [commonly asked]

3. The Extension of stay application form

4. 2x passport pictures

5. 1,900 THB.

Which immigration office will you use?

.

That is not the right immigration office. You are in Bangkok, and you would have to use Changawattana, Counter J, to extend this visa.

You should make an appointment to speed up the process.
