Question: if the restrictions are eased on May 1st and I no longer am required to do the PCR Test & Go at a ASQ hotel for one night , will I or should I , get a full refund from the hotel ?

UPDATE : iVe just received this message from the hotel :

Good evening, kindly informed that if government announce change

or cancel Test & Go program if you booking through hotel website you can get full refund, If booking through the Agents online depend on the booking condition of the Agents.

Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster inquired about the potential for a full refund from their ASQ hotel if the Thai government eases restrictions on May 1st and cancels the Test & Go program. The hotel responded that direct bookings can receive a full refund, while those booking through agents depend on the agents' policies. Community feedback highlighted mixed experiences regarding refunds, with some receiving them quickly and others still waiting.

Lots of comments will come your way, but here is the one true answer: Maybe.

Some people got their refunds immediately after the 2nd PCR was cancelled. Some people are still waiting for the same refunds, because this is Thailand. And so, you will MAYBE get your money back.

I hope you do!

I know mate ,, rolling the dice . Biggest mistake theyโ€™ve made is cancelling the pre flight PCR test , should have kept that and cancelled the one on arrival , but , as usual , Thai thinking of the money .

I'm still waiting on my 2nd PCR test refund from Grande Centerpoint from my stay at the beginning of March. They've told me twice now they have requested the refund from the hospital but nothing so far. After Songkran I plan on going into the hotel again and asking a 3rd time.

A lot of things are up in the air about May though. Originally the PM said that deaths need to stay below 100 and cases need to not spike after Songkran for them to relax restrictions. Today the deaths were over 100 so who knows how that will play into things.

Also if they do switch from PCR to ATK, no one knows if they will do it at the airport, or decide to keep doing it at the hotels. The roadmap that was released uses the wording "Professional ATK at airport or designated venue on Day 0" so who knows what they will decide is a designated venue.

my thoughts exactly , Iโ€™ve booked an excellent hotel Grande Centre Point Ratchadamri .

Iโ€™ve just this second received an email from them stating they will refund the PCR Test fee , that was all it said .

Iโ€™ve replied stating I wonโ€™t need the entire booking and that I only booked the test and go package as that was a government requirement to enter the country via the Thai Pass .

And pointed out I thought a full refund should be in order if the requirements are changed etc

well because the requirement for not having a PCR test or hotel stay is still speculation I guess their hands are tied too. Probably will only find out when/if it becomes official.
