TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is experiencing frustration with hotel staff not allowing them to leave during their Alternative Quarantine (AQ) period, despite receiving negative test results upon arrival. There are mentions of the Chonburi sandbox program, which allows for more flexibility after AQ. Other users discuss the rigid AQ rules, the inability to negotiate early release or get refunds, and confusion about the difference between the sandbox and quarantine regulations. Advice and experiences are shared regarding the AQ process and navigating the Thai Pass.

- Sorry to hear that Bro - I got all my Docs on A4 paper firstly..., and My Thailand Pass had to be done 7 times and timed out, over and over again, and after 5 hours I finally converted all my Pdfs to Jpegs, dragged and dropped to Pass - I wonder why they don't have a 'PAUSE and Retrieve Button' on the Thai Pass Application...! I'm (Not Thai Bashing, but my 10-year-old son said - ''Dad, why can't they let me design the Thai-Pass site, because It's so Stressful.." You really need to Be starting everything 3 weeks in advance..... *RANT OVER* and sorry brother you had all this go on..... Bless, for answering my Question Promptly - Declan in LONDON - 🙏

Sandbox and quarantine are two different things. You're in quarantine, you can't go outside.

@Mel *******
he's in an AQ. He signed up for 7 days quarantine. This will not be a shock to him and I doubt it's just a holiday if this is the route chosen. Their frustration is that the rules have relaxed but they have to stick with the original regime

I thought you could leave the hotel room between tests?

@Mark ******
on the new test and go, you can. He’s booked on AQ which is 7 days quarantine in your room.

And you call this a holiday !!!

Governing bodies. Bahaha haha. How do you say pound sand in Thai. When will people stop thinking their above the rules.

You can try negotiate early release but you won't get refund of remaining nights. And your release paperwork ( completed AQ certificate) probably won't be ready.

no need any refund just want to roam outside

@Amit ******
should have done Sandbox. No way will they let you roam and return to hotel each evening. Puts the rest of the hotel guests and staff at risk. Sorry. You'll be out in 2 days
