Will I face problems when returning to Bangkok for a few hours after my trip to South Korea on a tourist visa?

I am contemplating getting a single entry tourist visa..fly into Thailand..then after a few months visit South Korea for a few weeks.

I want to get a return ticket for Brussels-Bangkok..plus a return ticket Bangkok-Seoul. So that after I leave Korea, I would first fly back to Bangkok..and a few hours later would board my flight from Bangkok back to home.

I know that the second I leave Thailand my tourist visa is not valid anymore.

So my question is, if me flying back to Bangkok with the intention of staying at the airport for a few hours until my flight back home arrives, would be a problem.
Answer summary
The question revolves around the return transit situation when flying back to Bangkok after a trip to South Korea on a single-entry tourist visa. The user intends to stay airside at Bangkok airport for a few hours before boarding a flight back home to Brussels. Several comments clarify that if the user does not pass through Thai Immigration and remains in transit with a valid onward flight ticket, there should be no issues. However, since the user is traveling on two separate tickets, it is likely they will need to go through immigration, collect luggage, and then check in for the onward flight. Overall, as long as the user presents proof of onward travel, there should not be significant concerns.

Looks like you're not transiting and will have to pass Thai immigration. Nevertheless, there will be no problem as when you fill out your TDAC, it will show you leaving very soon. At worst, they'd pull you aside and check the onward ticket. I'm assuming that you come from a country whose citizens can be granted visa exempt entry.

You'll be "in transit " not" in Thailand "

OP
Kevin Dunne I don't think that's correct: I assume I need to go through immigration (which officially means entering Thailand and needing to file the TDAC entry card), then collect my luggage, and then check in again for my final flight.

Frans Snel no you pick up your luggage then follow the signs for transit connections!

Kevin Dunne I don't think so....for me it is not a regular connecting flight...it is 2 separate tickets.

If you will be remaining on the airside, not going through Thai Immigration, you would exist only for the airline.

It shouldn't be a problem but you can never say never!

Transit passenger what could go wrong. As long as your ticket back home is via Bangkok.

Graeme Drake His return ticket originates in Bangkok so he is not transiting.

Given you will have your ticket back to the UK with the flight leaving in a few hours I can't see you having a problem

He's returning to Belgium not the UK but as you say, it shouldn't be a problem, he basically wants to know if he'll be allowed in visa exempt to to take his flight home

If your flight back home is via Bangkok but a single PNR (ticket all the way through) then Bangkok is irrelevant as you are just transiting. You are not entering Thailand again.

if by pnr you're asking if I'll get a ticket for Seoul to Brussels with a stopover in Bangkok...no.

I'll get 2 return tickets: Brussels-Bangkok and back..and Bangkok -Seoul and back.

From what I read online, it should not be a problem, since when flying back I won't leave BKK airport, but will instead fly onwards home to Brussels. I just want to check if that is correct.

Frans Snel You will be entering Thailand so will require a new TDAC entry card to clear Immigration and check in for your departure flight. With a departure ticket within hours you should not have issues with Immigration.

Graham Seal thanks. That's what I assume as well. So that would mean that in my passport there will be mentioned I was there on a SETV..and then on visa exempt (even though less than 1 day). - Do you think this would make it more difficult to return to Bangkok that same year for another trip of only 2 weeks..visa exempt?

If they are two separate tickets then invariably you’ll need to enter Thailand and check through immigration to collect your bags to re-check in for your next flight.
