how's the experience of people who wait for their dtv approval and come back to thailand in the meantime and then do a border run once the visa got approved? i understand that they technically can't process visa processing while we're inside thailand but i heard some people have a successful experience with it. i have some emergency and i need to come back to thailand as soon as possible, is this doable?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats face concerns over waiting for their DTV visa approval while still wanting to return to Thailand. Some suggest it might be risky to enter Thailand without showing the DTV approval, as immigration authorities are reportedly aware of pending applications and might view inconsistencies seriously. While some individuals have succeeded by doing a border run after entering, it is generally advised to wait until the visa is approved to avoid complications. Using a border run agency could potentially mitigate risks, but caution is advised as each case can vary widely.

If your asked for additional information they may ask you to prove your location again ,if you can’t then you’ll be denied

I entered today (without showing my DTV) and they immediately called me out for having the DTV and said I had to enter on that (was thinking I had to re-enter on my business visa and close it first). Anyway, I’m just thinking it seems to be very clear to them now on their screens at immigration, so I’d be concerned they note the dates don’t add up and cancel it - just a risk you’d be taking!

STAY WHERE YOU ARE UNTIL THE VISA IS APPROVED OR NOT

I agree. I was also advised to stay put by the embassy. I wouldn't risk it.
