Hi everyone.. I visited Thailand last year 2025 for 4 times but none of my visits exceeded more than 2 weeks each.. and 3 times in 2024 and same. I want to go during Songkran for a week or so.. Will there be an issue at immigration? I know it entirely depends on the officer but I am feeling a bit skeptical before buying the tickets... please suggest π

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about potential immigration issues in Thailand due to multiple short visits over the past years, expressing concern before booking a trip during Songkran. Community responses were overwhelmingly reassuring, stating that as long as the user had not overstayed any previous visits and presented themselves as a genuine tourist, they are unlikely to encounter problems at immigration. Suggestions included having return tickets, hotel bookings, and sufficient cash on hand to demonstrate intent to comply with entry regulations.
I went 4 times last year never got an extension or overstay and flying back there 27th April . Iβm a tourist and they know it . I will get a visa the trip after as Iβm moving there later in the year.
Never say never. Other people may of just been lucky. There cracking down on people coming and going. Multiple times per year. They're getting more stricter every week.
King of tourists Thai loves, you come spend money and live, not like bunch of westerners comes and live in hostels on a few dollars a month for long time, bottom line you shouldnβt have a problem.
At the immigration at bangkok airport go to the lane that's moving quick that means the officer is not asking question unlike the slow lanes u can see the officers asking too many question n be a delay.i ve done it n it works with any airport in the world
Mate you shouldn't have any problem. Im a FIFO worker and spend all my leave in Thailand and have done so for last 5 years, was chatted once about 2 years ago by a female immigration officer saying i come many times and I should have a visa, which is true. And I'm now actually in the process of getting a retirement visa together. Its not right I know but I know guys that have been spending 6 months a year in Thailand, one month working aboard and one month in thailand and have been doing that for the last 15 to 20 years..there married to a thai have houses and kids and are swinging the tourist visa all this time...it all depends on the immigration officer you get and there take on the matter when trying to come through. Good luck and if your worried you can at the very least apply for a tourist visa before you come.
Sean Gibson I just bought my return tickets up and down after reading the comments and gave me a green signal.. yes I got couple of weeks more. Lemme see if I can get a tourist visa rather than entering with a visa exempt policy .. thanks again .
Aniket Dasgupta yeah I'd only do it if I was really worried which honest i believe you have nothing to be worried about. And like many here have said you should be fine, but peace of mind is a wonderful way to navigate life..all the best
as you appear to be a real tourist and not trying to live full time in Thailand I would think that you should be OK but as you said it does depend on the Immigration officer at the gate but be polite and have all the necessary answers ready and I think you won't have a problem. By the way I'm no expert but do watch the local expat news a lot.
Aniket Dasgupta I'm not so sure it is impacting the 'genuine tourists' as all the people I see complaining about the way Immigration is operating appear to be long term 'visitors' not what Immigration (and me) think of as tourists. If people are coming into Thailand on a 60 day exemption, extending that to 90 days, leaving for a day or 2 and then returning for another 60 day exemption and trying to extend that by another 30 days so in effect are living in Thailand for 180 days with just 1 or 2 days outside would you call that a genuine tourist?
You should not have problems if you have air ticket confirm arriving and departing Bangkok, confirm hotel booking and filling in TDAC online, have cash THB20,000 as proof.
Very unlikely. I went 9 or 10 times last year, been twice this year. Never longer than 10 days in a trip, sometimes just a long weekend and haven't been asked any questions by an IO.
Aniket Dasgupta same experience, was in and out 7 times last year , never got asked anything - other than why don't you live in Thailand anymore by one IO, as they obviously can see my previous history.
