Hi all..I've been a bit concerned of reading posts of people getting refused entry when arriving at bkk.i have been coming to Thailand for many years. only staying for the 30 days then back to UK.. work for 3 to 4 months then back...I always go to prasat where I have a long term girlfriend which we plan to marry in June.. I stay at her home.if I was refused entry at some point which would be my best option.do not want to fly back to UK.thx

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around concerns regarding potential entry refusal into Thailand, particularly for expats who frequently visit on a 30-day visa exemption. Several commenters suggest keeping proof of sufficient funds and onward travel readily available to prevent issues. Others note that those who travel back to the UK for extended periods typically face fewer problems upon reentry. There are also suggestions for obtaining a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa or considering crossing the border by land to avoid complications.

I can't really see any reason you'd be denied entry, as you're using the 30-day visa exemption for the purpose it is designed for, which is short stays on an infrequent basis. As others have suggested, it would be wise to have your minimum funds readily available as well as your return/onward journey. There are changes in the wind, so I'd check back here once in a while to learn of any developments

Getting into Thailand today is like trying to get into West Berlin during the Cold War times

Strange how some admins have no crystal ball, know that the decision is ultimately up to the Immigration Officer, and will close or delete posts when OP's asking for predictions. All the while other admins can see the future regardless of Immigration Officer or traveler's preparedness.

OP will have no problem, but for safety have cash ready to show (THB20k), and onward travel ticket (this also required when you check in and enjoy. On a positive note we had a customer that did a OUT/IN straight after a Non B with WP and he had no problem at DMK.

Quick - before they close commenting. I would suggest always travel with all the requirements. If you are in UK frequently get a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (though marriage visa trumps METV). From what I have read people can get hung-up for any reason and sometimes no reason so best to not give the Immigration Officer a reason. Finally note, I ponder this same question as I am a frequent visitor (long term guest on tourist visas). My newest plan is to ALWAYS cross by land to avoid being sent back by plane. There really is no way to know where they will send you (back to your home or where you came from) so I am just not going to risk it.

People are only being refused entry who are living in the country on back to back tourist visas. If you go back to UK for 3-4 months then they don't have a problem with that

Because Immigration doesn't want that. You can't live in Thailand on tourist visas and immigration is cracking down on that a lot lately

It’s very unlikely that you’ll be refused entry. Those reports of people being refused are people who live permanently in Thailand but use the tourist visa/visa exempt system to enter the country. With your history of genuine visits, you’ll be regarded as a tourist and will be fine.
