My tourist visa expires tomorrow, i need to extend in samui... office is closed on weekends. They won't charge me overstay on days they are closed... correct? A friend of mine didn't have to pay her overstay for this reason before. Just curious to hear of anybody else's experiences?
Cheers guys! <3

TLDR : Answer Summary
You will not be fined for overstaying if your visa expires on a weekend or holiday when the immigration office is closed. You can go the next day when the office reopens to extend your visa, and you will receive an overstay stamp indicating the fine has been waived due to the closure. It's advisable to wait until your visa expires to seek an extension, as it won't affect your overall stay.
If your stamp expires on a day the immigration office is closed (weekends or holidays) and you go the next day they're open to get an extension you will not be fined for the overstay but you will get the overstay stamp in your passport. It will have a "fine waived due to closure" stamp on it.
There is no down side to waiting until a stamp expires to get an extension because they add the extension to the expiration of the current stamp. That means you don't lose any days going early.
