Will I be admitted to Thailand on a 30-day visa exempt entry if my flight is 56 days from entry and I plan to apply for an extension?

Quick question. I'm a US citizen entering Thailand on a 30 exempt visa and plan to get a 30-day extension. My flight leaving the country is 56-days from entering. Will they let me in if I say I'm applying for an extension or do I have to show a flight leaving before 30-days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a US citizen entering Thailand on a 30-day visa exempt entry, it's likely that you will be admitted even if your flight leaves 56 days from the date of entry, especially since you plan to apply for a 30-day extension. Many travelers have reported not being questioned about their return flight if they maintain a polite demeanor and do not mention the extended stay plans upon arrival.

Unless you have an extensive history of living here on back-2-back visa exempt or tourist visa entries you are highly unlikely to be asked anything at all entering on a 30 day visa exempt entry especially seeing as you have proof of onward travel too.

% Ok I enter 6-7 time's year for the states and never have a return flight and never asked, just be polite and say nothing you can change your mind over the 1st 30 days, so no need to say anything they wont ask.
