TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about potential issues with immigration regarding a flight booking for their typical stay in Thailand, which lasts 87 days, including a 60-day entry plus a 30-day extension. Comments suggest that proof of onward travel may be required at check-in by the airline, and there is some mixed feedback on what immigration may or may not ask for, indicating the importance of having a return flight booked.

I booked for a 87 day round trip it’s just I’ve seen a bit of uncertainty around it lately

@Harry *******
if you have a history of around your 90 or so days a year in Thailand the immigration officers shouldn’t bother you having a return flight of 87 days as you describe.
Will *********
What did you do previously?
Martyn *******
Wrong. Yesterday I was asked by immigration for proof of my return flight so make sure you have one booked and can make changes

@Martyn ******
yes was is it within the 60 days the extension part, I could book for the return to fly out on the 60 days and rebook it after I have 30 day extension it’s just the additional fee for ticket change

Railway Ticket for example

No only at Check in ,in your homecountry the Airline might ASK for Ticket outside Thailand within 60 days because you have No 90 days Non o Visa

all the information I’ve seen says that you can enter for 60 days and get another 30 days so why shouldn’t book a ticket to cover that period it’s all subject to IO allowing this
Wayne *********
@Harry *******
because the 30 days is via application and Not a guarantee you get it. But it is rarely declined.
Andi ***********
No, you are not abusing the VE system.
Thaimer ******
No, as they don’t even ask for your flights
Ralph *******
@Thaimer *****
The airlines often do.

I will have a return ticket it’s a round trip ? The part I read one time was the IO would expect the return part to be within the 60 days and not the extended period

@Harry *******
… your onward or return travel must be within the 60 day period after your arrival.

Airlines DO check sometimes. I’ve been checked personally on two separate occasions.

Also, now, it’s one of the fields on the TDAC. If you get checked at immigration, it might raise a flag
Thaimer ******
@Ēad ******
you can write whatever on departure part of TDAC

I’ve had mine checked on 4 of my last 5 flights. It’s getting more common.
