Hello everyone, first of all thanks to the admins and the people from the group, because help very much.

Now i have a question....

My last 4 visa application was in Vientiane (last in December 2018, by ground from Udon Thani) in March of 2019 finish my visa after the extension and i'm thinking to apply again in Vientiane doing another visarun.

But i read someone is having problems after many visa extensions in the same place and now have the new online service in Vientiane, and i'm a bit worried, because maybe my entrance will be denied in march after my visa run.

Someone have some experience and can give me some advice?

Because the thing is i like go to Vientiane and i don't wanna visit another country, because i have several friends there and i like go to visit and pass some days there, and escape of the crazy and dirty Bangkok.

About my nationality, i'm Spanish.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a Spanish national, is considering a visa run to Vientiane after multiple back-to-back tourist visas obtained from there, but expresses concern over potential entry denial due to excessive visa extensions. Community responses emphasize the risks of returning to the same consulate multiple times, the possibility of receiving a warning stamp, and suggestions for alternative places to apply for a visa. They also note the importance of being prepared with necessary documents at the border and the discretion of immigration officials during entry.

Get the visa in another country and get a multiple re-entry permit then go visit your amigos

whether you like to visit lao or Vientiane or not has nothing to do with it. the real question IS do you want to get another tourist visa OR do you want to get a tourist visa and risk getting the warning stamp stating you can't use that consulate anymore?

i didn't know u can get a red stamp before like a warning.

@Albert *****
certainly you can see how hitting the same consulate over and over for a visa could get you a red warning stamp, right?

How about trying a consulate in another country OTHER than Lao?

I have 3 problems, i wanna go to Udon, because i have many friends there, and i need to go to Vientiane because i have many friends there.

And extra .... Vientiane is option in budget and I don't wanna expend a lot of money because after songkran i come back to spain.

That's the point, and extra i was reading and in Malaysia my second option is canceling many visas.

Do I get a visa, Will I be denied at the border? Impossible to answer these questions as nobody of us works to handle your visa application and nobody of us will actually sit at the border check point to handle your entry in Thailand. There is a risk as all the Thai consulates in the area have set a limit on how many tourist visa you can have back to back. Normally you get a warning stamp first next to your tourist visa before you get denied next time. On entry just be prepared with the 3 proofs: 20.000 Thb or equivalent currency in CASH, proof of onward travel and proof of accommodation.

No, if the Immigration Officer sees something wrong he will deny you entry into Thailand.

If you really must go to Laos again, you could try Savannakhet.

@David ******
probably good advice vs trying Vientiane again.

Going for a 4th back to back setv in Vientiane you will likely get the red stamp. I would advise you to apply elsewhere.

Terms are important. First, you aren't getting a visa extension in Vientiane, you're buying a new visa.

Second, its up to the people in the embassy to decide if you qualify for the visa, and if you have "too many". They *generally* put a red stamp on the visa saying you have too many on the last visa you get.

Third, even if you do have the visa, it's up to the border officer to decide if you are allowed in or not. A visa does not give automatic entry into Thailand. Crossing by land is easier than the airport, from what I've been told.

So if you're worried, you might want to look into other visas that might fit your purpose.

How many tourist visas have you received from Thai Consulate in Vientiane ? Is it 4 already from Vientiane?
James ********
@Albert *****
you may be correct. Others will offer helpful advice. Clearly Vientiane is showing strictness from recent reports about granting tourist visas more than 2 from Vientiane.

I think this is only if u cross the border, not apply visa, because if u apply visa u have 90 days. That's why i did 4 times
James ********
@Albert *****
also remember only two land border entries allowed per calendar year.
James ********
Albert Wolf I suggest you not go back to Vientiane. Do not return by flight, stay on ground with border entries. Lets see what others reply. I think you were lucky getting 4 in a row from Vientiane.
