TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about opening a Thai bank account with a DTV visa, specifically seeking the friendliest bank office in Chiang Mai for this purpose. The comments predominantly indicate that it is becoming increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to open a bank account with a DTV visa due to stricter banking regulations in Thailand.
Can’t anymore. My partner’s bank that has money in it closed and this was his bank account for 8 years🙁 I also don't see why people are laughing with this post just to be rude.
Mary **************
But this was long time ago and we stayed in different countries so there was no activity with his account. But check the updated bank’s terms & condition
oh this was when tourist visa holder can open a bank account before 2016 he just needed to show his company certificate with sealed but new regulation you can't open a bank account with DTV🙁
Some weeks ago it was a crackdown because the new banking registration. So basically now it's impossible to open a thai bank account with DTV. Also agents can't open.
yes, they did. Even my Thai child visa accounts where frozen, until I showed at the banks (BKK and Kasi) seems they are looking at all foreigner accounts.
