I am trying to open a Thai bank account with a DTV visa, what is the friendliest bank office in Chiang Mai to attempt that? I already know it is becoming difficult

Can’t anymore. My partner’s bank that has money in it closed and this was his bank account for 8 years🙁 I also don't see why people are laughing with this post just to be rude.

But this was long time ago and we stayed in different countries so there was no activity with his account. But check the updated bank’s terms & condition

oh this was when tourist visa holder can open a bank account before 2016 he just needed to show his company certificate with sealed but new regulation you can't open a bank account with DTV🙁

Some weeks ago it was a crackdown because the new banking registration. So basically now it's impossible to open a thai bank account with DTV. Also agents can't open.

Sempre pots usar wise o compres bancaris que no siguin thai per pagar.

T'escric en català veient que ets d'allà que m'és més fàcil. Bàsicament hi havia xarxes de scammers, que usaven comptes bancaris per fer-los servir de mulas. Bangkok Bank va ser el més afectat i van tancar mils de comptes bancaris. Tot estranger amb compte a Bangkok Bank que no tingués un visat de llarga duració i que no fos de tipus turista, els van tancar el compte.

També han posat límits en les quantitats que pots moure etc..

Fins i tot visats com Thailand Privilege estan tenint problemes per obrir comptes tot i que en teoria s'oferien amb aquest servei des dle propi visat.

També ha passat similar amb les SIM's de telèfon. Bàsicament estant intentant netejar tot això.

Her words are Visa more than 1 year can open account. She takes her Chinese customers to Big-C Donchan. (No specific word on DTV though)

My property agent opens accounts at TTB in Chiang Mai but I do not think she can for DTV - I will ask her which branch she uses

Basically you can't. DTV is a tourist visa hence banking regulations in Thailand doesn't permit this

yes, they did. Even my Thai child visa accounts where frozen, until I showed at the banks (BKK and Kasi) seems they are looking at all foreigner accounts.
