TLDR : Answer Summary
DTV visa holders cannot open a bank account in Thailand as this type of visa is classified as a tourist visa. All comments reinforce that banks do not authorize account openings for DTV holders, emphasizing the need for long-term visas to qualify for bank services.
Sadly... there are no Thai banks opening up a Thai bank account for DTV Visa holders.

No, you can't. And even if you could, chances it's getting blocked later are pretty high.

Anonymous participant 189 there is no chance for getting blocked. You font know anything about Thailand, you only spreading rumors. Only people with an old sim card got blocked but then later unblocked after visiting the branch.
Can you open an account on a DTV? No you can't. You're the one spreading rumors.

Anonymous participant 189 of course you can, you can do everything in Thailand, that's why agents make money. I opened more than 10 accounts in Thailand at 6 different banks. But I am not a digital nomad who lives in Thailand 1 month and has no clue how to survive

Anonymous participant 189 nah, you speak of account getting closed if tourist visa... thats a false rumour, since you are not here and dont know about these things. Banks are targetting suspicious/fraud/falseinfo accounts, not tourist accounts especially
3. Whether you like it or not, some accounts are being permanently closed, while others may eventually be reinstated.
4. "You speak of accounts getting closed if tourist visa". I never claimed it was tied to a specific visa type or group. The crackdown is mainly on ED, DTV, and tourist exemptions especially targeting scammers and similar cases. But you'll certainly not be able to open an account on a DTV!
5. “Since you’re not here and don’t know.” Well, I’ve actually been here for over 15 years, certainly longer than you. (Is that your best argument?!) So please, no rumors.
6. I'm answering to the OP who doesn't have an account yet.
