TLDR : Answer Summary
Most community members confirm that it is not possible to open a bank account in Thailand with a DTV visa due to strict banking regulations, as this visa is categorized as a tourist visa. While a few users mentioned that some smaller branches might still assist, the general consensus is that it is very challenging and large banks typically do not accept this visa type. Alternatives such as using international banking apps like Wise or Revolut are suggested for managing finances.

With a DTV visa, opening a Thai bank account is tough right now. Most big banks won’t allow it because of stricter rules, though some smaller branches might still help—but that’s rare. If you want a hassle-free account, a retirement, work, or marriage visa is usually better accepted.

In the early days of the DTV visa, there were some banks that accepted it, but now none of them do.
