visited a couple of banks and it seems that it’s impossible to get a bank account with a holding DTV now. the staff mentioned they are much stricter and only with a letter of employment / retirement visa are you allowed to open an account
not sure if anyone had any success?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the difficulty of opening a bank account in Thailand with a DTV visa. Recent observations indicate that banks have become stricter, requiring a letter of employment or a retirement visa to open accounts. Community members confirm that only certain tourist visas, specifically Elite and LTR, allow for account openings. Several users share experiences and suggest alternative solutions like using Truemoney or highlighting the ongoing challenges with DTV visas.
Yeah... I used to work for a company in Thailand so I have a bank account, luckily. Never thought it'd help me. It seems Truemoney is a solution tho.

Yes that's correct but isn't anything new. You struggled to get an account on a DTV even from the outset, back in July 2024...
