I've left my passport at my mates condo and he's now gone to phuket. I plan on going as well. Do you think it will be okay just to have a photo of my passport if i go to phuket via car?
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is concerned about traveling to Phuket without their physical passport, as it is left at a friend's condo. Throughout the comments, users offer various insights: some believe a photo of the passport may suffice for entry, while others caution that presenting the physical passport may be required at immigration checkpoints. It is suggested that although getting into Phuket might be manageable without the original document, there could be issues when trying to leave. One commenter shared their experience of not having an ID and still managed to enter, while others noted that having a UK driver's license might help. Overall, it’s a mixed bag of opinions, and there’s advice to consider alternate methods like having the passport sent via courier.
no, you definitely can't take a flight without passport. By law you have to have your passport or a copy with you and you have to give direkt access to the original if the police asks for. But usually there is no big deal if you are not suspected a crime like overstay.
Bus or train.
And if your passport is lost you need to make a report to the police. You are going to need the report for leaving Thailand, plus you need to go to your embassy. They will give you a departure permission. Went through that in the past.
You can go anywhere you want without your passport BUT be aware, if your stopped and they want to see it and you don't have it, you won't be be going anywhere until somebody fetches it. That's how it works.
It's your choice what you decide to do.

Wrong !! my wife drove out a few days ago no check point going out nothing going back in just a 200 baht test and a paperwork that she has been infected with that shit that's it
I drove through there myself three weeks ago, foriegners have a different lane and they have to report to the main building and present there passport, not applicable to Thais,
Rest of way zig zagging up to Bangkok didnt get my passport out once not even in hotels, but Sarasin Bridge Checkpoint its required
its a requirement for exit from Phuket as per the sandbox and governors rules. Guessing to ensure all people who have come into Phuket via sandbox have completed the required time.
