LONDON -

DTV declined for both myself and husband - I sent an email 23rd to ask how long the funds had to be in the bank and if we could use a joint account for both of us with enough on to cover 12k each …

no reply and was read the same day - so applied 28th October for both DTV

We have a legitimate remote working business and attached everything they asked for ON THE VISA WEBSITE ..

I get an email earlier today with an attachment with lots of info

And stating funds must be in the bank 15 days before applying

Ours weren’t in for that long they were put in the account the day before applying 😅

Is this the reason they’ve declined both instantly ? Do you think 🤔

And are we able to reapply we actually go on holiday next Friday to Thailand so I will leave until we return in December and reapply - it’s a lot of money to loose if they are going to keep declining we definitely meet the DTV criteria so it has to be the funds not seasoned
Answer summary
User's DTV visa application was declined, likely due to not having the required funds in their account for the necessary duration before applying. They inquired about the reasons for the decline and the possibility of reapplying after their holiday in Thailand. Responses highlighted the importance of having funds seasoned in a personal account for at least three months, pointing out that merely depositing funds a day before the application can lead to instant declines.

Get an agent! There is a lot of subtle stuff within the Immigration system that agents know how to work with or work around

I think going forward and in relation to the funds I would suggest that you each have your own bank account with the required 500K Thai baht equivalent deposited in each account. Keep your applications are clear as possible for each applicant. Once applications are secured then you will be free to move those funds back to their original accounts if you so wish.

Why do you keep arguing with people that the london embassy only has to have seasoned for 15 days and not 3 months as poeple are posting. WHEN YOU DIDNT even have it for 15 days but 1 day the day before you applied?

Putting funds in the day before a visa application would look sus for any visa type anywhere in the world

Financial Proof: Bank statements from the last 3 months showing a minimum ending balance of 500,000 THB (or foreign currency equivalent) This is the exact requirement, did not see anywhere that states, anything about 3 days being enough?? tad different 3 days vs 3 months eh?

I find it shocking that you can pay so much money to apply for a visa and if they’ refuse you they get to keep it!

Also it’s nuts you have to book all your flights and accommodation for 60 days apply for the SETV, and could get rejected which leaves you screwed!

Never known anything so ridiculous!

SupportiveDragon3895 UK embassies around the world follow the same procedures, and believe me, the criteria for obtaining a 6-month UK visa are far, far stricter—and the chances of approval for Thai nationals are very, very slim. 5 years multiples entry UK Visa fées are 903£>

Having the funds banked for just a day will be reason for the decline. London used to accept funds a day old but changed earlier this year to 15 days seasoning. You can reapply.

OP
Andi Traveller thanks Andi - I thought this would be the reason 🫣 too eager and they only replied to my email today m, I don’t expect a reply so just went for it and applied - lesson learnt

I will go on holiday we are going next Friday to Phuket and Khao Lak for 3 weeks with friends then I’ll sit and reapply once home 🙏

Leave the money in the accounts and apply again when you get back.

You could apply one at a time and wait a while in between if you need to move your money from one persons account to the other because they do need to see the amount individually for each application, not shared, as far as I’m aware.

Classic case of not reading the question.. they ask for 3 months statements showing a constant balance of over the equivalent 500,000 bhat … … wasted your application fee I’m afraid

OP
Daron Mullineaux they sent me this today in reply to an email I sent to them 23rd - when applying on the visa application it doesn’t state all of this - I mean I know we have lost the £300 each but it’s wrong that they don’t give clear info on the actual site when applying

ShinySeahorse4335 You have heard of AI? Using it would have summarised the requirements and advised against wistful thinking. You pay for the application to get processed. The application was processed and declined because you didn’t meet the requirements. Food for thought before the next application(s). PPPPPP.

ShinySeahorse4335 it says 3 months in the account and must be "held" in those 15 days prior to applying.
