Will my unemployment status affect my DTV application at the Paris embassy if I have sufficient funds?
I submitted my DTV request under Soft power at Paris embassy.
I set I am unemployed with no income. I sent my bank documents with nearly 1.000.000 THB on it (more than the 500.000 requested).
Is it enough to them or anyone in my situation was denied/asked how I will survive 5 years without an income?
I didn’t mention it I don’t plan to stay 5 years without an income and would either go back to France to work or work remotely for non Thai customers.
I didn’t mention either it but I also have other financial accounts with more money invested. I can also ask my parents to certify they would be able to help me financially if needed.
Do you think they will ask me anything about my unemployment if they do, what should I say?

The 500k in baht is to show what the embassy believes is six months of living expenses. If you applied correctly and dotted I’s and crossed t’s as we say…you should be fine.

Hello! I applied in London but I was in the exact same situation, so I hope this will help. After submitting the requested docs, they asked me to explain how I plan to financially support myself in Thailand. I said that I’ll take a monthly allowance from my savings account to cover my expenses (I didn’t mention that I plan to work remotely for non-Thai clients). With my savings, that was enough for them to issue the visa. You have a lot more than the requirement, so it shouldn’t be a problem in Paris too.

You don’t need more papers work. I wouldn’t mention your intention of working, it might trigger more questions and get you denied.

J’étais dans la même situation que toi j’ai fait la demande auprès de l’ambassade de Paris j’ai postulé pour du Muay Thai, je n’ai eu aucune question tout a été validé donc ne t’inquiète pas, c’est un peu long mais ils sont plutôt tranquille. Mentionne pas l’argent investi, mentionne pas que tu comptes travailler si tu postules pour du Muay Thai et tout ira bien

Possible they ask how you survive without job ? It can be interprèted as illégal job in thailand. They need stable tourist not somebody who becomes a charge in the future

Well the soft power originally doesn’t require a job. As I said I have enough money to survive 5 years anyways, in stocks accounts etc. But I wonder if this is fine and accepted

Anonymous participant too late to correct. Normally they will come back to you asking to submit more evidence about employment and since you already said you dont have a job they will not ask for further evidence. Hopefully your course is for 9 months at least

InspiringQuince9561 tu te trompes. La seule chose qui est interdit c’est de travailler pour une entreprise thaï et avec des client thaï. Avec le soft power que ça soit cuisine ou muay thaï t’as le droit d’avoir une activité hors client et entreprise thaï.
