Some people in this group may need to hear this… you are a foreigner! You are neither Thai nor Thai immigration authority. I notice farang really enjoy trying to enforce/invent rules to other foreigners here. I don’t know if it’s colonizer mentality or what but it needs to stop your also a foreigner. The Thai government has their own laws and enforcement agencies they don’t need you 😂 some of the expats on here are self appointed police. Share your visa advice sure but stop bullying other members and acting like a immigration officer because you are not
Summary so far
The post critiques certain foreigners (farangs) in Thailand for acting as self-appointed authorities on immigration rules, emphasizing that they should not enforce or invent rules as they are not Thai or part of the immigration authority. The discussion has sparked a variety of reactions from community members, some agreeing that many foreign comments can be overconfident or misinformed, while others defend the provision of advice regardless of its accuracy, arguing that experienced foreigners can often provide valuable insights.

People can say what they like, if you don't agree or have nothing to add then move on to the next post. We all have different opinions and some are more rude than others but just live with it. Simples!!!

What people fail to realize is that each immigration office practices its own rules so what is right for one area within Thailand may not be accurate for the others. It's not that the advice is wrong - its that you need different advice based on location of the office you are going to.

I am appalled that a few of you are behaving like this. I joined this group for the purpose of seeking guidance. Some of you are attacking us for asking questions. You are fighting each other. This is disappointing, and I am leaving the group and will seek information elsewhere. Good luck to the group as a whole.

I agree with entirely. They say you can’t do this,,,you can’t do that. And there usually wrong. Because if something in Thailand is law, it’s seldom or never enforced. Prostitution is illegal in Thailand but it’s openly done by thousands of people.

I know when people keep calling us 'foreigners' that most of the time it isn't meant in a bad way, but it still doesn't sound that great.

Please state some examples??? What on earth are you takking about.

Sure, frequently incorrect advice is given by some weirdos here. But its typically corrected very fast by experienced people. And can usually even be googled/AI to verify/dispute.

What do you think the purpose of this group is? What exactly is your problem?

Being a foreigner or not doesn't have anything to do with knowing well the rules, and as a matter of fact, most long-term foreigners, meaning those living for 20 or more years in a foreing country, have more interest and knowledge about visas and immigration rules that most locals and even some Immigration officers 🤦🏻🤷🏻

Statistically speaking, over 70% know-it-all comments were always coming from a one-time-visit-foreigners who believed he/she knows it all after just a single visitation to Thailand. Try posting a more specific question related to visa(s) issues, and these 70% know-it-all trolls will be reduced to half. And these half trolls, are literally just repeating the answers from decent expats who actually live in Thailand and have experience related to visa.

As a wiseman once told me, majority of this group members are simply just an overjealous miserable farangs who at their best luck can backpack their way to Thailand, finds and rents a Thai girl/boy somewhere in Pattaya beach at a very cheap price to accompany him during his short stay, and suddenly he himself is self-claimed as part of Thailand's expat.

And now, congratulation you have poked out these miserable's nest and forced them to say something to validate their existence.

Get off your high horse, some people are deserving of appropriate comments if they show disrespect to Thailand or visa rules, which has presumably triggered your holier than though post. You don’t speak for anyone, a good group will moderate itself.
