Can I teach English for one hour a month at the immigration office without a work permit in Thailand?

Thanks for replies to my earlier post. I now have the one year extension.

On a side note: the Immigration Officer asked me if I would like to teach English to the staff at the office one hour every month!

Would this be classed as working without a permit?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user recently received a one-year extension based on marriage and was asked by the immigration officer if they would like to teach English for an hour each month. Responses vary, with some suggesting it's possible to obtain a work permit under the extension, while others warn that working without a proper visa and permit is illegal. The conversation reflects concerns about legality and potential informal arrangements.

I see that you are on an extension of stay based on marriage to a thai SO there is no problem getting a work permit if you're offered a job on that extension.

If the immigration office is serious about the offer they made you, I'd have them jump thru the hoops to get a work permit for you.

You can't work without the proper visa and a work permit I don't care who asked you to do it. It's totally and completely against the law :/
