Hello all - I am mid application on the e-visa service for a single entry non-o - the website has a popup stating that covid insurance is only required now for non-oa and non-ox and stv - but my application is still forcing a insurance certificate for $100k to be uploaded to finish the application? Is anybody in the same boat and can shed some light on this situation.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is experiencing an issue with the e-visa application process for a single entry Non-O visa. Despite the website stating that COVID insurance is only required for Non-OA, Non-OX, and STV visa types, the application is still mandating an insurance certificate of $100,000. Other users suggest that while the stated requirements are accurate, specific consulates may impose additional requirements, leading to this discrepancy.

There is no insurance requirement other than the visa types you state for entry in to Thailand. However the consulates that use the evisa system may require insurance for issuing the visa itself. My guess is you’re using one of the US consulate sites to apply?
