TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer your multi-entry business visa to a new passport in Bangkok, be aware that if your visa was issued in a sticker format (non-b multiple entry visa) from a consulate in another country, it cannot be transferred. You will need to carry both the old and new passports until the visa expires.

If you have non-b multiple entry visa itself from a consulate other country (means sticker), it cannot be transferred. You need to carry both passport until it expired.

Stamp I mention. Exactly the same scenario as the OP. As Ellie said, just carry two passports. Immigration did the rest with the stamp. This stamp is in my NEW passport. The bit I have scrubbed out has my OLD passport number - linking the two. Done three bounces with both passports and the aforementioned stamp - no problem.

Umm I departed BKK airport, old passport with non imm b multi visa + new passport. Stamp in passport from immigration officer. Old passport number written on it. I speak from experience - not guess.

ummm I didn’t think they would... how about stick a sticker with the same details in the new passport??? I am only going on the advice given to me by the Thai consulate in Sydney “ Dear Mr Harrison, your visa will expire after your current passport. Please see immigration in Bangkok when you get your new passport so they may transfer this visa”

, if you mean METV, yes, same. For SETV, don’t bother to think about it. It’s already just one of your history.

this is correct. Immigration (when you exit) put a stamp in your new passport and write your old passport number on it. You need to carry both as Ellie says.

YES, Immigration is not allowed to rip a page with a sticker out of a passport and staple that into a new passport. That is the reason why Visa's can not be transferred to new passports.

No you cannot. not visa itself. Only “admitted until” entry stamp can be transferred to your new passport.
