A comment suggests that no visa data has been disclosed yet and raises concerns about the DTV's influence on visa trends, hinting at the need for adjustments in visa policies.

They haven't disclosed any so far. I doubt the DTV is bringing more applicants to other types of visas and many are moving from other types to the DTV. To my opinion, they will need at some point balance the benefits and requirements of all visas. Let's see which ones will be subject to these changes.

Anonymous participant - For new applicants. I believe what James was highlighting is your opinion that they will make things harder for people already with the visa. It is one thing having consular officers look at paperwork versus you thinking immigration officers at airports would take the time to review such documents. There is already a push to reduce average time to stamp a person into the country, doubt they are going to ask for documents that will vary by individual. I have entered 4 times with no issues, my 5th is next week and 6th will be late December. Each time new 180 stamp, no questions.

Anonymous participant - I don’t think it will happen. Government thought elite and LTR visas would bring in tons of people (who spend money in Thailand), which it didn’t. So they created a much easier visa. What I believe will happen is at some point when they have brought enough people in, they will get stricter on issuing new DTVs. However, we shall see. I remain a remote worker, so changes wouldn’t impact me

Anonymous participant - Are you angry that you bought the elite visa? I almost did that but ended up waiting and now pleased at the result

I think 🤔 you have hit 🎯 on it. Buyers remorse ??? for buying the Thai Elite Visa, paying 500,000 thousand Thai baht or more.

Anonymous participant Many Reports of those entering Thailand with the DTV Visa multiple times. ALWAYS stamped in for 180 days. No added questions asked.

Your scaremongering does not sway me. I realize that you are an Anonymous troll.

Anonymous participant 935 I don't see the DTV being valid for 5 years for "cooking class" without documentation check every few months. Seems very silly and a laugh at the elite visa owners.

Anonymous participant I think ...You Think Too Much.

Get the DTV Visa... it's a 5 year multiple entry Visa. EACH time you enter during the 5 years you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

No need to ever get an extension in the country... just do simple LAND BORDER BOUNCE entries.

you don't think ENOUGH is the issue. know how many times thailand changed visa RULES?😂

james THINKS immigration won't recheck documentation on a 2 month cooking CLASS for 5 years, HAHA.

spend less TIME capitalizing RANDOM words and do MORE thinking

Anonymous participant - How does an immigration officer know what method you applied for the DTV under? How will they know how long one’s course is? They clearly made this visa easy to get, so unless there is a change in policy, regretting allowing people access to an easy visa, then why would they add additional work to immigration officers at airports?

Anonymous participant how about not hiding behind some anonymous name when being condescending to someone else!

Anonymous participant believe what you want. I've been in Thailand for 20 years and know change happens.

I don't hide as an "Anon" person.

I've been doing my best to help others understand and navigate the Thai Immigration practices and rules.

Also I realize that there are 80+ Thai Immigration offices in Thailand and each one may have differing opinions on the requirements for the issuance of a Thai Visa or its extensions.

The DTV Visa has been issued for 5 years. It's a multiple entry visa throughout the 5 years. EACH time you enter Thailand you will receive a STAMP for 180 days. Period 🩸

Anonymous participant I do agree. Immigration (and agents) will need a way to milk it.
