When does the validity period of a METV for a UK passport holder start in Thailand?
Hi, I have a METV, UK passport. Did my 6 months start on the day I arrived in Thailand or the day the visa was granted? Thanks!
Answer summary
The validity of a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for UK passport holders starts from the date the visa is granted, not the date of arrival in Thailand. Upon entering Thailand, the holder is allowed a 60-day stay, which can be extended by an additional 30 days at a local Immigration Office for a fee. The holder can make unlimited entries during the 6-month validity of the visa.

Your 6 months has srarted but your first permission to stay of 60 days will commence when you enter Thailand. You have an unlimited number of entries during that 6 months and get 60 days every entry (and each can be extended for a further 30 days at your local Immigration Office if required for 1900B).

Check your eVisa PDF file. Your 6 months validity starts on the date of grant and finishes on "visa must be used by" date.

The VISA is valid for 6 months from the date it was issued.. 🙂
READ the PDF they emailed you <- which IS the visa, and you'll see that it's valid for 6 months starting the day they issued it
