I'm looking at getting a 6 month METV from the Thai consulate in Brisbane, Australia. Just wondering how long can I push the start date of that visa out from when I apply for it and hypothetically get approved for it?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The 6-month Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) begins its validity on the day it is issued and placed in your passport. Therefore, you cannot push the start date beyond the issuance date. Additionally, to extend your stay, you should leave Thailand before your visa expires to obtain another 60-day visa-free stay. Furthermore, you can pay ฿1,900 at a local immigration office for an extra 30 days of stay, allowing a total duration of 9 months with the METV.
