If you entered on a visa exempt entry and are getting an extension in Bangkok you go to the immigration office out by Muang Thong Thani here **********************

you're talking about a 60 day covid EXTENSION (there is no covid visa) 🙂
Whether a 60 day covid extension starts from the date you apply or is added to your current stamp's expiration is totally up to the issuing office and officer. For the first covid extension we recommend you apply close to the date your current stamp is running out, so you don't lose too many days IF it starts the date you apply.
