Hello guys ☺️🙏🏽

If I just apply for an extension for my first 30 days visa on arrival (so just applied for the next 30 days more)

Can I apply in the few days right after for Covid Extension before it expired ? I heard that the Covid extensions were about to end 25 of July

Thank you for any help ✨

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they can apply for a Covid extension immediately after extending their initial 30-day visa on arrival in Thailand. The question touches on the procedure and timing of applying for different types of visa extensions in relation to the impending expiration of the Covid extension program.

and I think Pauli knows their options now and will go ask at their office before the 25th to see if they can or can't get a covid extension or not

Life gets so much more easy if you apply directly for a visa that fits your purpose of stay, as you have just applied for the 30 days extension based on tourism you have enough days left to apply for a conversion to a Non Immigrant visa.

a Visa based on having family with Thai passport, working, volunteer, study, being over 50 years of age, internships, being a monk, and there are lots of other reasons to apply for this visa which give you 90 days of stay and can be extended year after year as long as you meet the requirements

and just so you know, you don't have a 30 day visa on arrival <- I say that because there is no such thing as that. 😮 You have what's known as a 30 day visa exempt entry because you showed up here without having bought a visa from the thai consulate before you came BUT were stamped in free without one for 30 days 🙂

Whether you can or can't apply for a covid extension right after you applied for your 30 day extension would be totally up to the immigration office/officer you are applying at

What did they say when you were applying for your 30 day extension when you asked them if you could get a covid extension?

Keep in mind that some offices start the covid extension the day you apply for it as you're changing the reason for your extension from tourism to covid.

So if you just got a 30 day extension and applied for a covid extension you'd lose all the time on the 30 day extension stamp and the 60 day covid extension would start then.

thank you for your time and answer ! Okay that’s good to know I was wondering that, as Covid extension is 2 months given directly and expires soon apparently

SOME offices give the 60 day covid extension on the spot

but

some offices give you an under consideration stamp and you go back in 2 weeks to get the rest of the extension inked in

Some offices will do the covid extension without having taken the regular 30 day extension (but you lose all the days you have left on your current stamp) BUT

Some offices MAKE you take the 30 day extension first

You are correct the 60 day covid extension program runs out on July 25th

GO ask at your immigration office
