Hello everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a Non O Visa based on marriage and it will activate on September 25th when I enter Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ

When am I able to apply for medical insurance?

When I enter?

Can I do it earlier? As I understand they may be a stand down period for major sicknesses

Thanks so much ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Non O Visa based on marriage allows you to apply for medical insurance at any time, regardless of when your visa activates. Although medical insurance is not mandatory for this visa type, it is advisable to secure coverage. You can shop for insurance options before entering Thailand or after your entry.

I've been with Pacific Cross for many years. It's based in Bangkok and is a reliable insurance company with very good reviews. Loads of different plans and covers.

You can apply for medical insurance at any time, from anywhere. As the non o has no requirement about insurance, it is not connected to your visa at all. Start to shop around and find the one you want.

For the non O it's not mandatory. But, of course it's always good to have one. First I would contact y'r home insurance if and how long you are covered abroad .
