Went to Yangon Wednesday evening to apply for new tourist visas for me and my family.
Got to the embassy shortly after 9am on Thursday fearing a big crowd. To my surprise there were very few people and we waited in line for maybe 10 /15 min. Handed in our papers and were called again 10 min later to pay the $40 fee. In and out in 30 min. Great experience.. Next day pickup at 1:30pm in and out 15 minutes.
Great Thai restaurant (Thai 47) close to the embassy. Overall service and kindness of the people in the city astonishing. Beautiful pagodas, nice restaurants, roof top bars.. Overall had a nice 4 night visit. 4/5 star hotels very affordable. Transportation extremely cheap.. Less than 1/2 of Thailand. Same with food. My number #1 place for visa extension so far. Only downside was really bad pollution. We were the only ones wearing masks in the whole city but it was necessary
