I’m from Australia and have just used the Evisa application for the Thai Embassy in Canberra,

Overall the application soft ware is a bit clunky and slow but I submitted my application on 21/05 and got my response this morning 28/05 so I’m happy and can’t complain about the process. 🥸😁🍻

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian user shared their experience with the Evisa application for Thailand, noting that while the software was slow, they were pleased with the timely response after submission. They received their visa approval in about a week. Comments from others included inquiries about costs and the necessity of an Evisa, given the option for visa on arrival and extensions.

Tom , I'm curious as to why we would need an e visa for Thailand? I was always under the impression that visa on arrival for 30 days & an extension for 30 days & file for visa in Thailand 🤔! Cheers

it is just convenient for us not to have to muck around with a TM30 and having to go to Immigration. $60 for a single entry visa V’s approx $78 for an extension of our Visa exemption.

I’m currently in Thailand. I have to come back home to Australia for the sole purpose of doing this. Good to know. How much did it cost?

well I was told by this group I have to apply from my country of origin. Trust me I’m happy in my condo here in Thailand but I’m on a Visa exemption. Doing the whole 30 day extension and border bounce thing. I need a 60 day Visa. That can only be applied for back home in OZ?

I don't understand why Dan , as all my mates that live in Thailand ie: hua Hin , jomtien & chaing Rai have agents for ease & streamline of visa requirements ! I am relocating in September and arrive on 30 day tourist visa & apply in Thailand for"" o"" ret visa & have 90 day reporting ! All requirements handled by agent whom is very efficient & inexpensive. compared to many others!!
