I want to apply for the Dtv visa my country of residence is Australia.

I am currently in Bali stoping by after spending the last 30 days in Thailand my question is is there any other visa I can apply for as I really don’t want to have to fly back to Australia if the wait time for it to be accepted is 4-6 weeks as I need/want to be back in Thailand mid/end November….is there a visa I can apply for from Bali or even Australia that will give me until January next year then I can sort my dtv out once back and not in a hurry I have entered Thailand twice this year one time

On 60 day visa with 30 day extension and another time after a trip to overseas for just 30 days now in Indonesia on my way back to Australia? I will also be doing fifo from Australia so 2 weeks in Australia followed by 2 weeks in Thailand next year…and plan to train Muay Thai well in Thailand as that’s what I do well I’m over there just train and adventure….. will they let me back in with a Visa on arrival again or do I need a metv or other visa any advice is much appreciated…I have all the funds to do everything correctly it’s just the current wait times as Christmas is coming up. I’ve heard people waiting 4-6 weeks to be rejected or accepted for a dtv regardless of correct info

I have accomodation where I stay in Thailand and a coach and everything like that bank funds can even book a return ticket..

Any help is great thank you!
Answer summary
The user inquires about applying for a DTV visa while facing potential long wait times and wants options to legally stay in Thailand until January from abroad. They describe their visa history, including previous entries and extensions, and seek advice on interim visas that would allow them to return to Thailand without having to return to Australia. Community members suggest looking into options such as the ED visa or METV for temporary stays.

I think you need to be citzen or long term visa from where you apply for METV. For example previously I could not get one in Cambodia. Only SETV from Thai Embassy there

You can have a look at the ED visa

Same situation. So annoying. It shouldn’t matter where you are when you apply.

I will be getting the visa the Dtv visa but I’m wondering if I can get another visa until from mid November to last me till Jan when I will leave Thailand and go back to Australia and spend time there and work etc and then apply for the Dtv instead of now where I need to get back to Thailand but I’ve already done 1 60 day trip with a 30 day extension and another 60 day trip if I fly over again now will I get let in ? Or denied entry or is it all upto the imagration officers

WittyPersimmon9998 If you get a 60 day Single Entry Tourist Visa you should be fine.

WittyPersimmon9998 Tourist visa is 60 days and then you can extend that with 30 days at immigration.

WittyPersimmon9998 getting a SE tourist visa now kinda legitimises your intention. They can get wary of folks coming too often on visa exemption, so the fact that you go to the trouble of getting an actual visa is beneficial.

WittyPersimmon9998 yes. The single entry tourist visa is the only option if you're applying in Indonesia.

For multi entry, you need to go home, just as with the DTV.

If you think you are eligible to apply DTV right now, go back to Australia and apply now.

Otherwise, Visa free gives you 30days and extension inside Thailand gives you additional 30days or apply SETV gives you initial 60days plus extension 30days which will send u back til early to late Jan then fly back to AU to lodge DTV for long term option.

METV cost you $600 every 6months

DTV cost you $600 every 5year

There are other visas but none like the DTV. If you need the DTV, the other visas won't do the job

I will apply for the Dtv in January but with my recent trips to Thailand 90 days and a 60 day trip if only over again wil they let me in if I’m going over just to train Muay Thai and chill that’s all I do….the problem is the wait time in Australia for Dtv is 4-6 weeks at the moment…
