What are the total costs and requirements for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand?

Hi,

I just wanted to clarify something with people that already did the DTV.

Is the total cost of the VISA for 5 years (Excluding extensions) 10,000 bath?

Is any other type of VISA like ED mandatory?

I've contacted multiple agencies, and they all try to push their language / cooking / course on top of it.

So again, is another type of VISA like ED mandatory or is enough to pay the DTV and have all the requirements (income/savings/etc.).?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The total cost for the DTV visa in Thailand is approximately 10,000 baht, although it may vary depending on the embassy. Extensions or additional pursuits like border runs could incur more costs. For eligibility, you can either demonstrate remote work outside of Thailand or enroll in qualifying courses under the soft power initiative, though the latter is not mandatory if you can provide sufficient proof of income/savings.

If you go the soft power route, you will need to pay for that course or classes also.

Thank you all for the reply. It's a bit more clear now, and it looks like the course is just assuming you use the soft power route as mentioned by Jason, but if you can provide all the requested proof as a remote worker outside of Thailand, it's not needed. Thanks!

I believe only Laos is 10K. Everywhere else is >

THB. What do you mean "mandatory"? No idea about the agent questions as I don't use them.

Total cost is a one time fee of approximately 10,000 baht ( the actual cost depends on the embassy through which you apply).

If you decide to do any extensions that is an additional cost. But if you do border runs or leave the country occasionally then the one time application fee is the total cost.

No need for an agency, it's a simple process if you follow the requirements. And search on this page for information on the embassy you're applying through as they all have slightly different rules, some mentioned some not and its based on experiences.

Language isn't an option for the DTV.

The course are being pushed because you have 2 ways to qualify for dtv. Either have to show you're a remote worker outside of thailand or you can use those courses to apply under soft power.
