TLDR : Answer Summary
A US passport holder is seeking advice as his e-visa expires on December 31, just before he qualifies for a Non-O visa due to insufficient fund seasoning. He needs to know which visa he can apply for in Laos to cover a 4-day gap. Comments suggest applying for a 60-day family visit extension before the current visa expiration, as it allows additional time to secure the Non-O visa. Another comment indicates that money seasoning isn't required for the initial Non-O visa application, which may provide more options.

It sounds like he has not yet applied for the 90 day Non-O visa. Most immigration offices don't need the money to be seasoned for that. Seasoning is required for an extension.

yep I think about the only office that does require the seasoning on the initial funds is Jomtien

If he has not already applied for the 60 day family visit extension of stay... have him do it PRIOR to the ending date of his current permission to stay date.

That will give him the TWO months to apply for the Non O Visa as Married to Thai and the one year extension of stay as Married to Thai.
