TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how their wife's daughter, currently living in Thailand and about 13 years old, can join them in the UK as the wife approaches UK citizenship. Community responses suggest applying for a family visa or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). It is also recommended to provide adequate evidence for the visa application, especially regarding the recent death of the wife's mother, indicating that no one else can take care of the daughter. Users are encouraged to start the application process soon and ensure they meet financial support requirements.

Your wife's daughter should be able to apply family visa or ILR(indefinite leave to remain) as her mother will be British citizen or currently ILR. Your wife has to provide evidence for why now and not before to bring her daughter to the UK. As you mentioned that her mum(your wife's mum) has passed away and nobody else can look after your wife's daughter. You need to have sufficient funding to support your wife's daughter as well.

Information of how she(your wife daughter) can apply for ILR.

Not sure about the UK but in The USA. I partitioned for my two children to join me after I’ve got my USA citizenship.

The process is transparent and straightforward, I did not pay an attorney but did it myself without a husband.

My children are here for almost 20 years now.

Tell her to starts the paperwork as soon as possible, at 18 her daughter will not be eligible (per the USA) or it’d takes much longer waiting time.

How does the process to obtain a UK visa and residency have any relevance to the USA experience?
