TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice for their upcoming interview for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). Comments from the community emphasize the importance of bringing all required documents, especially copies of submitted materials and proof of funds. Honesty during the interview is highlighted as key, with suggestions to dress nicely and be prepared to clarify any details about the application. Additionally, discussions about the necessity and nature of interviews in different regions indicate that they are common in Asia, possibly due to previous trends of fraudulent applications.

copies of the documents you submitted and most importantly the proof of funds that you have shown. Thats the most important thing.

I brought all my documents and photocopy, even though they didn't end up needing it in taipei. All they asked was why I applied there instead of my home country

Bring copies of what you submitted, have your bank account ready to.show the 500K. You will most likely get questions to confirm/clarify what you have submitted. Where is your interview?

Be honest is the best advice Most posts regarding interviews mention being quite quick and straightforward Generally just clarifying the odd detail

Good luck

Sorry, I should say that’s a new one to me. I haven’t heard of this before. I was just curious. I got my DTV the first week it was announced in the UK through my company working online.

For the interview I guess it depends if you’re pretending to be on a soft power or actually using the DTV legitimately.

Good luck

Interviews are popular in Asia and not so popular in Europe/USA. Basically a brief interview to confirm what you have submitted. Some embassies it is compulsory regardless of DTV option you choose.

I wonder if interviews are more popular at the Asian consulates because the applicants there are more likely to have been living in Thailand on ed visas or visa-free entries.

I think that is part of it. I had my interview in Taipei and they had my record of visa-free visits and asked about them. Another reason is that the region is most popular for fraudulent applications via agents, especially SE Asia. Although that seems to be on the decline now with the online only application.

@Lewis *******
again you are incorrect, it is often just to clarify details Do not assume it is because people do not have legitimate reasons to apply

and being honest as you’ve stated above 😊
