TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on how to apply for a DTV visa while residing in the USA and without having a remote job. Comments suggest various options such as enrolling in cooking or Muay Thai courses, highlighting that remote work isn't necessary for the DTV visa, and stressing the importance of proving financial support while in Thailand.
DTV is not meant to live in Thailand, with a remote job you can do for some time, and when you do 5 years Muay Thai training you also can stay there some time, but I think you also should look for other possibilities.
Anonymous participant 240 You are not allowed work in Thailand on the DTV visa. You can work for a company that is based outside of Thailand or with people (clients) who are outside of Thailand. From the sounds of it, you don't have what it takes (a way to make money) to move to Thailand right now. I know you've got a girlfriend that you are aching to be with, but it would be better for you to figure that part out first.
one question peter or anyone reading my comment plx answer if u book a cooking class there or muay thai learning i get the visa on that but can i get a job and working there too on that visa ? Bcoz obviously it is difficult for everyone to just come and learn without having stable income
Anonymous participant 240 you CANNOT work in Thailand when you have a DTV Visa. Unless you have a digital nomad workcation DTV visa for conducting business with customers outside of Thailand.
