Start by reading the local Thailand Embassy website, and then search the group for that embassy, since many requirements are embassy specific.

Just book a Muay Thai course. A DTV is a DTV it doesn't matter how you got it.

DTV is not meant to live in Thailand, with a remote job you can do for some time, and when you do 5 years Muay Thai training you also can stay there some time, but I think you also should look for other possibilities.

Anonymous participant 240 You are not allowed work in Thailand on the DTV visa. You can work for a company that is based outside of Thailand or with people (clients) who are outside of Thailand. From the sounds of it, you don't have what it takes (a way to make money) to move to Thailand right now. I know you've got a girlfriend that you are aching to be with, but it would be better for you to figure that part out first.

you can work remotely on soft power, how you qualify for the DTV is irrelevant.

this is true. However you can't just have 500k THB in savings either, without any means of future income.

Sign up to a minimum of 6 months with an approved soft power activity and also be prepared to show how you will support yourself while in Thailand
