What happens if you leave Thailand one day after your visa stamp expires?

Anyone have experience exiting one day after stamp expires? Yes yes I know I shouldn't overstay at all but it would save me 6k on a flight and also wouldn't have to work a few hours after landing from a 17 hour journey so have been considering it. Don't care about the fine but obviously don't want to jeopardise the visa. 

Remember I overstayed one day about 10 years ago and got taken aside but didn't fine me or stamp my passport so was thinking there is a bit of leniency with a single day 🤔

If you're flying carry on luggage only, consider booking a cheap flight the day before, passing Immigration on your expiry date, and chilling in the airport for ~24 hours. Maybe purchase Lounge Access if you don't already have it.

Yes, my Mother overstayed one day and was charged 500 baht at the airport. She was in a wheel chair too. No compassion what's so ever.

Yeah last year when leaving Thailand overstayed 5 days, payed the fine in airport and all ok, now it's a bit stricter, but 1 day should not be a problem. 500 bath fee.

It’s always better to not have a history of overstay. Yes the fee is only 500 baht now. But it might hurt you in the future with future visa applications.
