Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some reassurance or insights from anyone who has gone through the Chennai consulate for their Destination Thailand Visa (DTV).
Long story short: A few months ago, I applied for the DTV while I was in the UK on a work visa. Unfortunately, my application was rejected because my UK visa was nearing expiry, and they required it to be valid for at least 90 days. They suggested I apply from my country of permanent residence instead.
So, I’m flying back to Chennai (I hold an Indian passport) to re-apply from home. Even though I know the UK rejection was just an administrative rule about jurisdiction, I’m still feeling pretty anxious about getting rejected again because of that past experience.
I have all my documents ready to go:
- Remote work contract & a solid cover letter from my company
- Payslips
- Flight tickets & confirmed accommodation
Bank statements (I called the consulate and they confirmed my UK bank statements are perfectly valid to use, as long as I submit my payslips alongside them!)
Has anyone applied through Chennai recently? How strict were they with the document audit at VFS, and how long did the processing take for you?
Would love to hear any tips, quirks, or success stories to help calm my nerves.
Thanks in advance
