Hello EveryoneπŸ‘‹

I'm gonna be going to Laos to apply for my Student Visa, due to the situation in Myanmar. My university have agreed to provide me with all the necessary documents and visa letter.

I managed to secure a booking on May 17.

My only concern now is, how is the situation over on Laos? Would it be a smooth process or should I try to get an "A" word to speed up the process? ( i don't know if we are allowed to say the word on this group )

Any words of advice are welcomed. 😁😁

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is preparing to apply for a Student Visa in Laos due to circumstances in Myanmar, with their university providing necessary documentation. They seek advice on the process and whether to use an agent to expedite it. Responses emphasize checking embassy requirements, processing times in Vientiane, and handling the application independently.

If you are going to Vientiane they usually process Visa applications in 48 hours. Take a printed application form along.

The requirements should be on the embassy website, including what documents you need and how long the application will take. I doubt an agent can change any of that.

Having an agent would definitely help me, smooth things out since I will know how much minimum funding is required and if some documents like police clearance are mandatory or not.

A lot of the agents I have talked to says they are not but I just want more confirmations on these infos.

The ED has no funding requirement and the police clearance is not mandatory until they say it is. It's at their discretion.
